About Us

How are we different from other Dairy Consultants?

The Sharefarming Consultants came from wanting to see a team focused approach in sharemilking and contract milking, rather than one party succeeding while the other one is left behind.

Louise and Myfanwy have seen the impact this ends up having on farm and the industry, and decided to be the change our industry needs.

We will provide the same advice and support that other farm systems consultants do, but with the primary focus being on finding a communication pathway that works, applying good farming practice and the farm thriving as a result.

What We Do.

Sharefarming Consulting

Business to business relationships like Sharemilking and Contract Milking need the right structure, care and attention to detail to thrive. They are not a “sign the contract” and hope for the best type deal.

We prefer to help you from woe to go but we are here to step in at any point and help get things (and the farm) back on track.

We offer a range of services to support Sharefarming relationships, including:

  • Supported contract completion and signing

  • A farm policy that makes sense for the farm and the two businesses working on it

  • A start of term audit and house inspections

  • Monthly meetings to keep communication professional and on-track.

Employment Support

Not everyone was born to be an employer and not every farm business is suited or ready for a sharefarmer.

Contract Milking as been a knee jerk solution on many farms to avoid the hassle of managing employees but this only leads to poor outcomes for the farm owner, the contract milker and the farms performance.

Our Employment Specialist, Ashlea, is here to be your HR partner to take the stress and worry out of the equation around having staff, wherever you are in the country.

Farm Systems Consulting

Farmers everyday are faced we new challenges outside of their control from prices paid to prices received, the weather, and government regulation.

Knowing how to adapt so everyone comes along on the journey and remains profitable is a unique skill that not all consultants have.

Our farm systems consultants understand how to implement good farming practice for everyone on farm, so the whole farm can thrive and be profitable.

Safety on Farm

We have well and truly drunk the cool aid around safety on farm - just because doing something in a way that could kill you hasn’t killed you yet, it doesn’t mean it won’t or it won’t harm someone else.

New Zealand agricultural statitistics on safety are appalling. Not only do we want to support you in meeting your legislative requirements but we want to be part of the change in giving farm owners, sharefarmers and employees the best chance of getting home safe to their families every single day.

Keith is our health and safety specialist who will work with you to start you on this journey.Kei
